Terry Cudbird completed his Oxford DPhil thesis on the Impact of the Great War on French Regionalism, a study of the Auvergne and Lorraine in 2020.
His article on 'The Clémentel moment: the beginnings of regional economic planning in France' has been published in French History (Volume 37, no.2, June 2023).
He is working on a book with the provisional title Clémentel and the origins of economic regions in France 1900-1940. This will extend the scope of his thesis to cover the development of economic regions as institutions up to the Second World War, identifying critical success factors. It will also incorporate new material on Toulouse and other areas of France.
Previous publications include Walking the Retreat: the March to the Marne 1914 Revisited (Signal Books, Oxford, 2014).
