‘And Here, We Rest’ – Poland, Europe, and the Jews, 1264-1364'
Supervisor: Judith Olszowy-Schlanger and Benjamin Thompson
I am interested in the development of nationalism and how that affected Jewish communities in Poland, during the medieval period. My research focuses on how the ways in which Poland solidified itself as a country shaped the Jewish communities in Poland and the Poles around them, as well as how other minority groups within Poland fared during this period. This period of history is one in which Jews lost many rights in western Europe, yet seemingly gained them in Poland, and my research explores why, and how, this came to pass.
I received my master's from Queen's University Belfast and my BA from Royal Holloway.
