Nicknames in Early Medieval England: A Socio-onomastic Study of Agnomina Before the Twelfth Century
My research focuses on 'nicknames' in early medieval England and how they result from, and interact with, social systems. I am particularly interested in the role of 'nicknames' in shame, and therefore social regulation. I am also interested in nicknames more broadly, across all cultures, and socio-onomastic theory.
